Ultrarunner, Coach, Professional Counselor, and Mom

Hi, I’m Shannon!

If you are reading this, then you may be new to my content and services. Allow me to introduce myself…

Many people know me as Be Short Run Ultra. I’ve been running 50+ mile ultramarathons since 2016. My focus has been to get faster over the 100 mile distance.

I’m a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders. I started my online private practice at the end of 2019, but I’ve been working as a counselor since about 2011.

Mindset and mental wellness coaching is not counseling.

About 2 or 3 years ago, I started a mindset and mental wellness coaching service for ultrarunners. I always wanted to marry the two fields. – The two things that I’m passionate about. — So, welcome to the Finish Stronger Community!

Coaching is non-clinical, but I do bring my expertise and resources. Oftentimes, my clients and I grow together. I LOVE what I do!

I am an assistant run coach, working alongside Coach Kyle Kranz. I’m not a certified run coach, but I know a thing or two. Personally, he’s been my coach since 2020. Working with Kyle has been a fun and successful journey.

Lastly, I’m a wife and mom. I’ve been happily married since 2012. My daughter loves animals, flowers, glitter, stylish clothes, hiking, trail running, and racing me. Every time I have a race, she says, “I hope you win!” <3

Let me know if you have any questions related to running, mindset, and mental wellness.

Will you support me in my mission to help others?

One of my many goals is to increase mental health awareness, the availability of free resources, and the access to services.

If you value my free mental health content, it would mean a lot to me if you would “like,” share, or Buy Me a Coffee.

This helps people find my free content and allows me to continue providing free content.

Thanks for being a part of my mission.

Happy running,

Shannon
