Hannah Witt – UESCA Certified Running Coach and Experienced Collegiate Level Athlete

I know firsthand how difficult it can be to balance training with work, family, and everyday life. I’ve been the runner squeezing in miles before sunrise, battling desk-job stiffness, and wondering how to train consistently without feeling exhausted all the time. Learning how to train smarter instead of just harder completely changed my relationship with running. Once I began prioritizing purposeful workouts, recovery, and long-term consistency over perfection, I became a stronger and more confident athlete.

My Coaching:

Today, I help runners of all levels reach their goals, from first 5Ks and comeback races to personal bests and podium finishes in ultramarathons. My coaching blends evidence-based training with real-world experience so that running can fit into your life, not take it over.

With a background in personal training and group fitness, I bring a strong focus on strength, mobility, recovery, and mindset into the coaching process. I work with athletes ranging from young adults discovering the sport to runners pursuing lifelong fitness well into their 70s and 80s. No matter the goal, my coaching is built around helping athletes stay healthy, build confidence, and make steady progress they can actually maintain.

I especially enjoy working with runners who are:

– new to running and building a strong foundation
– returning after time away or injury
– balancing training with demanding schedules
– preparing for trail races and ultramarathons
– looking to improve durability, confidence, and race-day execution

Chris Stephens @miles_for_mike_

Chris Stephens, founder of the Miles for Mike community, has used running to honor his brother while raising awareness within the military community for nearly a decade. A veteran runner of 16 road marathons and 3 ultra marathons, he is a writer, designer, and dedicated advocate for suicide prevention whose life was forever changed by the loss of his younger brother, Mike, to suicide in 2017.

What began as a personal path through grief has ignited a global conversation and movement toward hope and healing – with Mike’s memory and story as driving Chris forward.

Although only 18 months apart, Chris always thought of Mike as his “big brother” — the one who set the pace and called the shots. Mike’s service in the U.S. Navy, his artistry as a tile and stone craftsman, and his adventurous spirit as a mountain climber continue to inspire Chris every day.

In the days after Mike’s passing, Chris began running as a way to cope with his grief and feel close to his brother. What began as a way to move through his grief has now become Miles for Mike — a movement that invites runners across the world to honor Mike’s memory and raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention.

Since its launch in 2018, #milesformike has spread globally, with participants sharing runs and wearing bracelets in all 50 states and across continents from Europe to Australia and throughout countries from Greenland to Japan, China and Canada.

In 2023, Chris joined the Stop Soldier Suicide, a national nonprofit with a laser focus on preventing suicide within the military community. He serves as the Creative Specialist, channeling his professional talents and personal passion into life-saving work.

Glacier Ridge Trail (GRT) Ultramarathons and Trail Race (Shannon is a sponsor)

The GRT will offer four events to provide participants a choice of distances to match their experience, early-season fitness, and season-long goals – the 20 Mile Trail Run, the 50K and 50 Mile Ultramarathons and the 50-Mile 5-person relay. Except for a short stretch at the start and near the end, the 20 Mile and 50K events will be entirely on an exceptional single-track trail. In addition to the single-track, the 50 Mile course also includes a section of very runnable, yet very hilly, double-track/fire roads through beautiful hardwood forests.

This race is held annually to celebrate our local trails and to provide a donation of all net proceeds to Moraine State Park, Jennings Environmental Center and McConnells Mill State Park.
