Talks and workshops offered

1. The Power of Mindfulness in Trail Running. THE POWER IS WITHIN YOURSELF

  • Who this workshop is for: Run coaches; trail and ultra businesses; trail and ultra runners
  • This workshop is packed with high quality information on what mindfulness is, who it benefits, what the benefits are, practicing it at home, and using it for trail racing.
  • The workshop is interactive; I provide a variety of mindfulness exercises and lead the group through a couple. The exercises are fun and relaxing. I receive positive feedback from participants and they discuss ways that they can apply the skills that I teach them.
  • Each exercise we practice (and a few bonus ones) are in the PowerPoint handout, so that the athletes can revisit the material for practicing at home.
  • There is an additional handout, Race Day Visualization, which is the script to the visualization exercise that I lead.
  • The Race Day Visualization is moving and it allows athletes to access and harness their strengths and possibilities.
  • Participants have responded after the workshop saying that it was very impactful and valuable.

2. Anxiety vs Depression: Spotting the difference and how to help someone who is struggling with either emotion

  • Who this talk is for: Businesses and their employees; community event attendees; run coaches; trail and ultra businesses; trail and ultra runners
  • This talk dives into two huge topics, anxiety and depression. While these two emotions are thoroughly explained, listeners only learn the most important aspects, which can be applied more easily.
  • The key information can be used to help yourself or others.
  • I talk about what anxiety is, symptoms, and ways to manage it.
  • Learn about what depression is, symptoms, and how to get through it.
  • I discuss the overlapping symptoms of the two emotions because sometimes this confuses people.

3. Exercise, Sleep, and Anxiety: Rewire your brain

  • Who this talk is for: Businesses and their employees; community event attendees; run coaches; trail and ultra businesses; trail and ultra runners
  • Learn about how exercise and sleep can impact anxiety.
  • Gain knowledge about anxiety and how to better manage it.
  • Learn about how exercise effects the body and brain, and what exercises to try.
  • Find out facts about sleep and the brain.
  • Insights on sleep difficulties and coping with it.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS GET

Participants may receive a PowerPoint handout with all of the note-worthy information, so that they may fully participate in the workshop exercises and talks. – Taking notes is encouraged because it helps us to better retain information.
